was conceived by professional artist and craftswoman Steph Pillinger, based in Poole in Dorset.
"I obtained a 1st class degree in Restoration and Decorative Studies which helped me to realise a range of skills
and techniques. My style is influenced by the Abstract Expressionist movement, but I don't feel confined by any particular
movement or media. I produce cold stained & warm fused glass, paint, linoprint, scagliola either separately or combined in
mixed media. I like to use recycled & locally sourced materials like printed circuit boards or chalk, pebbles & sand.
At Blue Rider Arts, besides offering unique products and gifts to the public, such as our trellis art, I am also available
for private or public commissions, or collborative work with other artists.
Besides making art, I also produce bespoke glass moulds on request for fellow warm glass artists.
I draw inspiration from the environment & you couldn't want for a more inspirational one than the West Country.
I feel spoilt for choice with historic Poole and its beautiful natural harbour and Brownsea Island, the Isle of Purbeck, the
Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, and the rest of the breathtaking county of Dorset. The South West of England
combines dramatic coastlines with the most amazing scenic countryside to be found at Glastonbury with King Alfred's
Somerset Levels, beautiful Bath & Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Salisbury Plain, or the moors of Bodmin, Dartmoor and Exmoor.
Who could fail to be inspired by the Eden Centre or magical and mythical Tintagel"
